Full-Time

Hours: 7.5 Hour Days/Evenings/Weekends


Job Summary:


In collaboration with the Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician performs a variety of clerical, pharmaceutical and other general duties in the Pharmacy and other areas. Functions include preparation of chemotherapy, sterile and non-sterile preparations, unit dose pre-packaging and drug distribution, narcotic issue, purchasing and receiving supplies, dispensing first dose unit doses, bin filling unit doses, refilling of automated dispensing cabinets, and extemporaneous preparations.


Qualifications:


  • Licensed by OCP, education obtained from an accredited Pharmacy technician program (CCAPP accredited = Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs)

  • Experience in hospital Pharmacy preferred

  • Preference given to those with experience or training in handling of hazardous drugs

  • Canadian Association of Pharmacy Technician

  • Demonstrated computer skills

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, communication and teamwork

  • Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic techniques, pharmaceutical arithmetic, pharmaceutical terminology

  • Demonstrates excellence in communication, both written and verbal

  • Analysis / problem assessment

  • Innovative and willing to learn

  • Commitment to customer service and teamwork

  • Demonstrates individual leadership skills

  • Proven ability to attend work regularly as per the Attendance Support Policy #HA30 and Procedure #HA35
